Raccoon is celebrating after scooping the top prize in the 'Vehicle Decoration of the year' category at the FESPA awards in Munich.
The FESPA awards are the only independent global awards recognising the best print in the world and the people behind them. The 2014 awards saw categories across the print spectrum ranging from traditional signage through to special effect print.
The project entered for consideration was the work completed for the Gumball 3000 rally in 2013 where Raccoon, in its role as 'Official Branding Partner', wrapped 40 super cars in just 7 days prior to the start of the epic 3000 mile road trip. All of the wraps were designed, printed, prepared and applied by Raccoon.
The 2013 theme was 'Gumball Army' and participants turned to Raccoon to help make their car stand out on the starting grid. The theme saw some participants choosing their very own camouflage colourways, from standard military looks right the way through to psychedelic pink and blues. The result was jaw dropping as the army of supercars took their positions in Copenhagen before the trip to Monaco.
Managing Director Richard Clark said; 'We are extremely proud to have won the top prize in our category. When we met with Gumball 3000 to discuss their plans for the 2013 rally we were confident that we would create something extra special for the participants and the result was amazing, an explosion of colour. We received thousands of comments about our work across social media and to have won an international award recognising the project is the icing on the cake.'
