Gumball 3000 - Official Branding of Cars

Hot on the heels of helping make the Bullrun Europe Rally a roaring success in Oct 2004, we were contacted by the organisers of the World famous Gumball 3000 rally, to help with the branding of this year’s European event.
After initial meetings with the organisers, we were quickly given the status of “Official Branders of Gumball 3000“, and a close relationship was established between us.
The result?? The best dressed cars the event has ever seen!

All the cars on show in Trafalgar Square, London
From producing and applying car numbers and sponsors stickers to all 130 cars entered into the rally, plus support vehicles and show cars, we were also involved in the branding of a series of unique and highly desirable cars for the event.
This included the request to wrap a bright yellow Lamborghini Gallardo to make it look like the model that belongs to the Italian Polizia. Our highly skilled wrapping team spent a full day transforming the Gallardo into a replica of the original, and the final car looked fantastic, as you can see..

If only every police car was like this, we would all join up!
We also fully wrapped a bright red Ferrari 500LM to make it appear just the like the General Lee from ‘The Dukes of Hazard”. Bright orange and complete with the Confederate flag and ‘01′ numbers, it was the star of the show.

Transformation of a Ferrari 550LM into the General Lee
Driven by Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper and Jack Ass star Johnny Knoxville, it was seen by thousands of people as it travelled across Europe on the Gumball rally.
As with all events of this nature, the timescale in which we had to brand all 130 of the vehicles was very restricted. We arrived at Trafalgar Square 12noon on the day before, Friday 13th May! A team of eleven experienced vinyl fitters worked until after midnight applying over 50 decals, numbers and logos to each car. In total over 6,000 were applied!

The next morning, a smaller team were back to finish off late arrivals and to help with all branding enquiries from the rally drivers.

Has Anyone Seen Elvis?
All of the sponsors and Gumball logos, car numbers were produced using a combination of screen and digital printing methods. Black and gold was used throughout, and to make the cars look better than ever, we accurately contour cut the individual logos to shape. This was a task that took our production team many hours to do, but the final results were superb, and well worth the effort

Raccoon Win ‘Vehicle Livery of the Year 2005′ at UK Sign Industry Awards
Confirming our status as the UK’s number vehicle branding specialist, we recently won Vehicle Livery of the Year’ at this year’s Sign Industry Awards. On the back of winning the same award last year, it was an amazing achievement for us, and something that all at Raccoon are proud of.

The annual ‘Sign Industry Awards’ is the Oscars of the sign industry, and the competition is hot for all of the top awards, with over 150 entries in total. Our winning entry, ‘The Big Frieze’, was a project that we carried out for The Frieze Artfair, a festival of contemporary art, which is held in Regents Park, London every year. We transformed a fleet of luxury limousines into eye-catching pieces of art by completely wrapping the bodywork in a serious of vignettes and colour blends. All parts of the bodywork were covered, including the roof, bumpers and windows. The attention to detail and overall effect was fantastic.
