Do you have big ideas for your upcoming vehicle wrap? It all starts with a design brief, or at the very least, an idea of what you’d like to achieve. So, whether you’ve booked a wrap design consultation or are planning to book one soon, this guide will help you gather everything for us – so we can hit the ground running.
A good brief will give us a fuller picture of who you are and what you want, so we can create a design that takes your business to the next level.
1. Your business in a nutshell
Start by writing a basic overview so we can learn about your company. The more links and supporting material you can send, the better!
Send relevant links – You could show us your website, social media pages or YouTube account if you have one. We’d love to learn as much as possible, as this can help clarify your services. If you don’t have links, don’t worry. You can just explain your services in a few lines.
Tell us who you’re targeting – Who do you work with, and which customers would you like to hear more from? By including your target audience in your design brief, we can better tailor the wrap to your needs, e.g. a corporate design will differ from one aimed at homeowners.
Explain your values – These are what set you apart from the competition. You might be all about quality, sustainability, or customer service – in which case you may want (or already have) a slogan or tagline to include.
2. Setting the visual tone
Point us in the right direction by telling us your design ideas, likes, or dislikes.
Colour preferences – One or two branded colours go a long way, but it’s best to mention a couple as a starting point. These could be your classic brand colours that make up your logo, or you may want complementary shades that go with them.
Photo inspiration – Seen a van or wrap design you like? Even if it’s a competitor, we want to see it! Shots like these can serve as inspiration, so we can create a wrap design that puts theirs to shame. And as always, your design will be entirely unique.
Your ‘must haves’ – You may just want a logo on the side of the vehicle along with a phone number, or you may have an image that you absolutely want included in some way. Alternatively, it could be industry accreditations to include as logos.

3. What we’re wrapping
For your design to fit like a glove, we need to know what we’re working with.
The shape, size and surface of your vehicle all play a huge role in the final design and what’s possible. For example, a boxy van and an electric car make for different canvases.
So before we get designing, we’ll ask for practical details. These include the make and model of your vehicle, along with how many vehicles are being wrapped.
We also need to know how much coverage you want. We can provide full wraps, half (or partial) wraps, as well as vehicle decals. See our guide to full and partial wraps for help deciding.
4. What success looks like
Your wrap will be great for brand awareness – but that's not enough for some brands.
Instead, they want their vehicles to generate leads, such as with a QR code that leads to a website, landing page or booking form.
For others, success is about attracting the right people in the right places. So, whether your vehicle will hit the motorway, take to city streets, or be seen at corporate headquarters, we want to know so we can plan a wrap design that works for you!
5. Sending your brand assets
Do you have a logo, strapline or letterhead that you love? These can be included in your wrap! Here’s a list of assets you should send, if you have them…
Your logo – This is your brand identity in one, simple image. We suggest ensuring it still represents who you are, then sending it to us, ideally in Vector format for easy resizing.
Your strapline – If you have a saying that you still use, now’s the time to let us know. It should be bold, easy to read, and capture your brand in just a few words.
Images & illustrations – A good image can speak volumes, especially if it’s a high-quality JPG or PNG file. You can also send over any patterns or Vector file illustrations to use on your wrap.
Brand guidelines – A document outlining fonts, colours and images to use, these guidelines help to keep your branding consistent across formats, both online and in print. If they exist, send them across and we’ll follow them as closely as possible.
Your assets will be applied to a 2D vehicle template, edited in Adobe Illustrator. See our tips on using the vehicle template or get in touch to have us do it for you.
